It’s seriously been months since I took a nap, but I ended up taking a 3-hour long nap today. It was lovely!!!
I woke to several emails from some cute bachelors on match.com and some messages on Facebook from friends who wanted the link to my new blog. I didn’t even know some of them were reading before. Makes me feel special
Now I’m just watching the Grammy’s, catching up with Google Reader, and I’ll attempt to do some laundry later.
Women’s Health Magazine is giving away a sports bra today. Check it out! They give away something every day, and for the whole month of February, they’re giving away some intimate products… oooooh la la!
On a completely unrelated note, I was all set to splurge on some running gear and a nice hotel room for the NYC Half with my tax refund. Yeah, no refund. I actually owe $3000. WTF. I keep telling myself “it’s just money”, but I’m still pretty upset. Looks like I’ll be marketing the crap out of myself to get more clients.
On Friday, I signed up for my Florida Mortgage Broker Licensing class for a weekend in late March. I have to take the class in order to do business in Florida, and I’m really excited I’m going to be a broker! I’ll feel like such a success!
Ok, I’m setting my timer for 15 minutes to get some housework done!

There was a 10-mile run scheduled for yesterday, but then THIS happened….
And that was just the beginning of the day. It kept snowing all dang day, and I think we ended up with something like 8 inches. So the roads are much better today for driving, but there’s no way in hell I’m running outside today. And you all know I have a hatred for the treadmill for any run longer than 3 miles. So now I’m pissed off because I can’t run, and I’m feeling extra lazy since this will be the second day in a row of me sitting on the couch. And… I only got in ONE run all week with two dates and this snow. Ugh! (not that the dates weren’t worth it!)
Can I tell you how much I want to pack up everything and move to Florida right now?
I really need to muster up enough motivation to get off this couch and clean my pig sty. Does anyone follow FlyLady? Now that I’ve gotten in the habit of tracking calories, weight, and exercise every day for a month in a calendar, maybe I could start tracking a cleaning schedule?
What are your tips on keeping a clean house while training for a race? I’m too exhausted to clean!

It seems as though the switch to WordPress is sorta like a domino effect. Once you see someone doing it, you want to join the party too. I like parties.
So… I’m moving on up in blog land and heading over to WordPress. I’m warning you now… if you want to keep following me, I’ll be at runeatdatesleep.wordpress.com. You won’t see anything there yet, but I wanted to warn you before I export everything. I hope you decide to join me over there!!!
I’m going to switch things up a bit over there and incorporate some more personal topics (hence “date” in the title of my blog). I’m excited about it.
Now it’s time to figure out how to make a better looking blog header and all of that junk.
P.S. It’s snowing here. Boooo on that! I think I might start packing now for the move to Florida!

I hadn’t run since Saturday (I blame my lack of restraint when I get asked out on a date, which happened on Tuesday and Wednesday), so I was kinda dreading this run tonight because it had been too long. My plan was to run 6.2 miles with the first 3.1 at race pace and the second 3.1 at an easy pace.
My first 5k time splits:
Mile 1- 10:20
Mile 2- 10:40
Mile 3- 10:47
Mile 0.1-0:59
32:46- a 10:34 pace AND that’s 25 seconds off of my PR!
I haven’t run a 5k in the 32 minute range since high school!
Second 5k time splits:
Mile 1- 11:10
Mile 2- 11:53
Mile 3- 11:52
Mile 0.1- 1:12
36:13- 11:40 pace
My only complaint about the run is that my toes hurt from the get-go. I lost half a toenail a few weeks ago. While I was clipping my nails, I noticed it was barely hanging on. I could tell immediately at the start of this run that I’d end up with a bloody toe by the end, but that didn’t happen thank goodness. But in general, my toes are achy after almost every run. Is that weird? And I get cramps in them during my sleep.
So here’s what’s been bothering me:
First of all, if you haven’t noticed, I’m single. I’ve seen 3 guys in the past 6 days and none of them want a relationship with me. That’s fine. People just don’t click. But being 28, I’m starting to feel like it will never happen for me.
I’ve been really enjoying my half-marathon training, and I love doing it on my own. But, I just wish there was someone here to greet me when I come home. He would rub my legs while I tell him how about my run. He’d know the highs and the lows of the training. He’d comfort me while I break down and cry about being so exhausted. But… there’s no one.
So when I do find someone, this whole experience will just be a story I tell. I want someone to experience this all with me, and maybe one day someone will as I’m training for a different race. But this is my first real training experience, and I need and want someone with me.
Time for bed… I really must start getting to bed sooner than I have been. It’s been almost 2am before I’ve been falling asleep recently.
Oh, P.S. sorry my posts have been devoid of pictures recently. I need to remedy that soon!

I was uber excited to find an Amazon box in my mailbox yesterday filled with my new books, Devil in the White City and The Non-Runner’s Marathon Training Book for Women. The running book is hilarious! I know I’m going to have to get some other type of marathon training book or whatever because this book just won’t cut it for getting down and dirty with a good training program. But I knew that when I bought the book. Plus, the training schedule doesn’t look well planned.
In an effort to get to work on time for once, I woke up an hour earlier than I normally do. Well, I thoroughly enjoyed a nice cup of homemade Starbucks coffee in my Longaberger breast cancer awareness mug, caught up on some blogs
, emailed some guys on match.com, and made a breakfast of an English muffin with peanut butter. Apparently, I really took my time this morning because I still 45 minutes late to work. But I did enjoy taking my time to enjoy my morning. I really should work on getting up even earlier as soon as it’s lighter in the morning so I can run and get it over with for the day. And when I live in Florida, I’ve definitely got to get up and out the door to run because it will be too dang hot to run at any other time.
I had a run scheduled last night, but a last minute “date” popped up, so I skipped the run. Bad Andrea! Oh well, it’s my training. I’ll do it how I want to. I’ll do 5 miles tonight, and a 5k tomorrow. I still need to sign up for the Run to the Plunge, which is on February 6th and preceeds the Polar Bear Plunge. I’m excited to see how I do in my first 5K since training for the half-marathon.
I’m jumping on the Ask Me Anything bandwagon. Click on the link to ask me a question. Anything you want to know about me? It can be about running, weight loss, personal stuff.. whatever. I’ll answer your questions on the blog.
Ok, back to work!

Yes, all of these things are what’s going on with me, and they’re the things that make me realize I’ve completely changed my outlook on my weight and who I am.
But one thing has not changed at all… when meeting a guy, I still think he’ll think I’m fat. I almost feel like I have to think like that because I can’t bear the thought that a guy doesn’t like me because of my personality. That would hurt worse than a guy thinking I’m fat.
Yeah, that’s me and my insecurity of the day.
Must go run and cheer myself up…

As I was logging today’s weight in my calendar, I noticed that I had only been to the gym 3 times this month. I pay $52/month to be a member at the Y, so that equals $17/day. That just doesn’t seem worth it to me. So, I’m thinking about canceling the membership altogether… for now. I can buy some dumbbells to do weight training, and I can use yoga videotapes.
And… I won’t need it when I move to Orlando in a few months!!! Nothing is set in stone yet, but there’s a very strong possibility I will be moving back to Florida before summer to set up a new branch of our family business.
I’m getting very excited because I’ve already found a lot of meetup.com groups for running clubs in the area, and Orlando is just a hotbed for social activities while Delaware certainly is not.
More on all of this later! Must get back to work!
